Options Cog Button

Edited

This document outlines the various device preferences available in the Sales/Hire > Customer Overview screen. These settings allow users to optimise their experience based on the type of device being used, ensuring that the layout and functionality meet specific business needs.

Accessing Device Preferences

In the Sales/Hire > Customer Overview screen, you will find a cog button located just below the "New Customer" button. Click this button to access and set preferences for the particular user account, especially in the case of "over the counter" devices where the user is tied to a specific device.

Optimising Booking/Invoice Screen Layout

Users can select between two options: Tablet or Desktop. This setting optimises the Booking/Invoice screen layout to suit different device orientations:

  • Tablet: Ideal for portrait devices like tablets.

  • Desktop: Best suited for landscape devices such as desktop PCs.

Preview 'Sales Docket' by Default for Invoices with No Hire Items

When creating invoices that do not include any hire items, the layout will default to a small docket printer receipt format. This option is particularly beneficial for businesses that process a high volume of sales and prefer using a docket printer instead of full A4 size paper for tax invoices.

Using a Separate 'Signature Pad' for Over-the-Counter Transactions

This setting is applicable when pairing an over-the-counter PC with a dedicated tablet device. The tablet is used specifically for collecting customer signatures when they collect equipment for hire. See the Over The Counter Signatures help guide.

Showing 'Stand Downs' Tab on Sales Record Screen

Enable this setting if your business utilises stand downs to log instances when machinery cannot be hired out due to factors such as inclement weather. See the Stand Downs (Overview) help guide.

Displaying Customer Date of Birth on Sales Screens

This setting allows the "Date Of Birth" field to be displayed in the New Customer popup screen, facilitating better customer management and service.
