Notify via SMS on Delivery completion

This feature enables delivery drivers to inform customers via SMS when a delivery has been successfully completed. By following the steps outlined below, you can easily set up and customize this feature to enhance communication with your customers.

Activating the Feature

In the Delivery/Pickup Schedule, when a driver marks a job as completed by clicking the Completed button, a Notify Customer prompt will appear. To activate this feature, navigate to Setup > Preferences > Miscellaneous. Under the Delivery/Pickup section, toggle on the Notify via SMS on Delivery completion option.

Mobile Numbers for Notifications

Mobile numbers used for notifications are those marked as Mobile in the Customers Details screen under the Phone / Website section. When adding a new customer via Sales/Hire > Customer Overview, you can enter a Mobile number, which will be automatically populated into the Phone 2 field with the Mobile option checked.

Delivery completion notifications will provide the option to send messages to the Delivery Customer's mobile number and/or the Billing Customer's mobile number.

Customizing Notification Messages

If you wish to send a custom notification message instead of the default one, you can create a new SMS Template with the Template Name of Delivery/Pickup Notification.

Follow these steps to set up a custom notification message:

  1. From the main menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Preferences > SMS Templates.

  2. Click the + New SMS Template button at the top.

  3. Enter the Template Name as Delivery/Pickup Notification.

  4. Compose a short text message, which may include a website URL.

  5. Click Save Changes.
