Clearing your Browsers Cache and Cookies

Occasionally, browsers may encounter issues due to cached data. The browser's cache stores information to enhance your online experience, but sometimes this data can cause problems. Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve these issues.

Clearing the cache and cookies can fix various browsing problems such as incorrect page displays, login issues, or connectivity problems with external applications like Xero.

How to Clear Cache and Cookies

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Scroll down and click Privacy and Security.

  5. Choose Clear browsing data.

  6. In the pop-up, select the Time range (e.g., Last hour, Last 24 hours, All time).

  7. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

  8. Click Clear data.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge.

  2. Click the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. In the left-hand menu, click Privacy, search, and services.

  5. Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.

  6. Select the Time range.

  7. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

  8. Click Clear now.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Click the three lines in the upper-right corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Click Privacy & Security on the left.

  5. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.

  6. Click Clear Data.

  7. Check the boxes for Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content.

  8. Click Clear.

Safari (macOS/iOS)

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Click Safari in the top menu, then choose Preferences.

  3. Go to the Privacy tab.

  4. Click Manage Website Data.

  5. Click Remove All, then confirm by selecting Remove Now.

For iOS:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Scroll down and tap Safari.

  3. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
