Restrict User Default Branch

Edited

In hirepos, you can easily set up default branches for staff members and restrict users to their default branch or state. This feature ensures that various areas of the app apply the branch filter automatically, enhancing efficiency and organization within your business. Follow the steps below to configure default branches and user restrictions in hirepos.

Setting Up Default Branch for Staff

To set up a default branch for a staff member, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu strip at the top, navigate to Setup > Staff.

  2. Click on the staff member you wish to edit.

  3. In the Default Branch dropdown, select the relevant branch the staff member is assigned to.

  4. Scroll down and click on the "Save Changes" button.

Restricting User to Default Branch Only

To restrict a user to their default branch only, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Preferences > Users. (Note: You must have admin privileges to access this area.)

  2. Ensure that the user has a matching staff member (matched using the email address). A red 'No matching email' warning will appear if the email does not match.

  3. Click on the user to edit, which will take you to the User Roles screen.

  4. Check the "Restrict to default branch only" checkbox.

  5. Scroll down and click on the "Save Changes" button.

Restricting User to a State

Users can also be restricted to all branches within a state. The default state for a user is determined by the state of their default branch in the Staff setup. To restrict a user to a state, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Setup > Preferences > Users.

  2. Click to edit a Login User that is to be restricted to a state.

  3. In the Permissions section, toggle on the "Restrict to default branch/state only" setting.

  4. Click the "Save Changes" button located at the bottom-right of the screen.

Remember that these changes will only take effect once the user logs back into hirepos. By setting up default branches and user restrictions, you can streamline operations and ensure that users have access to the appropriate information based on their assigned branch or state.
