Delivery/Pickup Only Users
This document provides a comprehensive guide on how to set up a user as a Delivery/Pickup only user in HirePOS. This feature is particularly beneficial for staff members, such as drivers, who need access to the Delivery schedule without the ability to edit data or view other parts of the system.
In HirePOS, designating a user as a Delivery/Pickup only user allows them to access the Delivery schedule while restricting their access to other functionalities within the system. This is especially useful for drivers who only require visibility of their scheduled jobs.
Set a User as Delivery/Pickup Only
Invite your user into HirePOS by following the steps outlined in the Invite New Users guide.
Navigate to Setup > Preferences > Users and select the new user.
Expand the Roles option.
Check the Delivery/Pickup only checkbox.
Save the changes.
Linking Your User to a Supplier
After setting the permissions, it is essential to link the user to a supplier in HirePOS. In the system, all drivers, whether internal or external, are categorised as Suppliers.
Go to Setup > Suppliers.
Create a new supplier, and ensure their Email Address is exactly the same as the Delivery/Pickup user login email.
Access the Other tab.
Check the Is Driver/Transport company checkbox.
Save the changes.
It is crucial to note that linking Admin or General users to a delivery supplier will filter jobs by that driver/supplier by default.
How It Works
Once the above steps are completed, the user can log in as usual. Instead of being directed to the HirePOS Reminders screen, they will be taken directly to the Delivery/Pickup schedule. From this interface, they can view the day's jobs and utilise filters, except for the suppliers filter.
While logged in as a Delivery/Pickup Only user, only jobs assigned to the linked Supplier will be visible. Admins must ensure that jobs are allocated to drivers accordingly.
