Import Images to Online Store Items

Images play a crucial role in enhancing the visual appeal of your online store and engaging customers. To ensure your images look their best while maintaining optimal loading times, it is important to consider the size and ratio of the images you upload. This guide provides recommendations on image size and ratio, as well as steps to add images to your online store in HirePOS.

For the best quality and performance, we advise uploading images with a maximum height or width of around 1280 pixels. A high-quality JPEG image within these dimensions typically ranges between 100 KB and 500 KB in file size.

Regardless of the ratio you choose, consistency is key. It is highly recommended to maintain the same ratio for all images on your online store. This practice ensures a cohesive and visually appealing experience for your customers.

If you are unsure about which ratio to use, consider opting for a Square (1:1) image ratio. This ratio maximizes the viewable area and offers a modern and clean look, similar to popular platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

Follow these steps to seamlessly add images to your online store in HirePOS:

1. From the main menu strip at the top, navigate to Sales > Online Store, or click the Online Store button on the main menu screen in HirePOS.

2. Click the Setup Store Items button.

3. Locate the item to which you want to upload images.

4. Click on the Image (or Image placeholder) in the Image column. This action will take you to the Images tab within the Online Store Item Details screen.

5. You can upload up to 6 images. Click Import (or Replace for existing images).

6. Choose to browse for the image to upload or drag and drop it inside the dashed border of the image tile. A preview of the uploaded image will be displayed.

7. Click the X Close button at the top right corner or the button at the bottom left to complete the upload.

8. If needed, proceed to import additional images following the same process.

By following these steps and adhering to the recommended image size and ratio guidelines, you can enhance the visual appeal of your online store and create a seamless browsing experience for your customers.
