Welcome to the HirePOS Selling Units documentation. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and managing selling units in your HirePOS account, enabling you to streamline your inventory and pricing processes effectively.

Setting Up Selling Units

To set up selling units in HirePOS, follow these steps:

  1. From the menu strip at the top, navigate to Setup > Item Related > Selling Units.

  2. Click on an existing unit to edit it or select New Selling Unit to create a new unit.

  3. Enter the Unit Description (e.g., Each, Hour, 1/2 Day, Day, Week, Month).

  4. For time-based units, specify the Time Span and Interval for accurate calculations.

Unit Settings

Unit settings in HirePOS include:

  • Time Span

  • Interval

  • Base on Calendar Day

  • Minimum

  • Maximum

  • Grace Period

  • Exclude Weekends

  • Exclude Sundays

These settings help customize how units are calculated and charged.

Selling Unit Groups

Selling Unit Groups provide advanced functionality for the AutoCalc feature. By assigning units to specific groups, you can control pricing and calculations based on customer segments or pricing tiers.

AutoCalc Behavior with Unit Groups

When using Unit Groups, HirePOS automatically recalculates units based on the assigned group, ensuring accurate pricing and invoicing.

Selling Unit Group Discounts

Assign customers to specific Discount Unit Groups to offer tailored pricing based on customer types or pricing tiers. This feature allows for automatic selection of pricing based on the assigned group.

AutoCalc Feature

The AutoCalc feature in HirePOS recalculates quantities and units based on the hire period, ensuring accurate pricing and invoicing. You can manually trigger AutoCalc or set it to prompt automatically when date changes occur.

AutoCalc Options

  • Yes, Recalculate Prices - Recalculates both the Selling unit and Qty/Units.

  • Just the Qty, not the Unit/Rate - Recalculates only the Qty/Units.

  • Don't AutoCalc - No recalculation will occur.

How to Sort Selling Units

You can easily sort selling units in HirePOS to prioritize pricing and unit selection. Follow these steps to rearrange selling units:

  1. From the menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Item Related > Selling Units.

  2. Click the A/Z Sort Units link at the bottom of the selling units list.

  3. Drag and drop units to the desired order and click Save Changes.

How to Make a Selling Unit Inactive

If you need to deactivate a selling unit in HirePOS, follow these steps:

  1. From the menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Item Related > Selling Units.

  2. Click on a unit to edit.

  3. Go to the Options dropdown at the top right and choose Make Unit Inactive.
