In the hire industry, managing similar items efficiently is crucial for smooth operations. Item Groups in HirePOS allow you to organize and apply attributes across a pool of identical hire items. This document provides a comprehensive guide on creating, managing, and utilizing Item Groups effectively.

Creating an Item Group Master Record

To create a new Item Group Master Record:

  1. Go to Setup > Item Related > Item Groups (Master Records).

  2. Click the New Group button to initiate a new Master Record.

  3. Assign a unique Group Code (up to 15 characters).

  4. Modify relevant fields to apply changes across all items within the group.

  5. Add a descriptive name for the Master Record.

  6. Select an Item Type (mandatory).

  7. Opt to update descriptions for all items in the group.

Adding Items to a Group

To add existing items to a group:

  1. Edit the item in Setup > Items and select a Group Code from the dropdown.

To add new items to a group:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Items, access the Hire (Grouped) tab.

  2. Click the +New Item Button next to the desired master record and assign a unique item code.

Removing Items from a Group

To remove an item from a group:

  1. Locate the item in Setup > Items or use the Items In Group tab in the Item Group setup.

  2. Clear the Group Code field and save changes to remove the item from the group.

Additional Fields

Various additional fields can be customized for all items within a Master Record, including Sales Prompt, Returns Prompt, Invoice Message, Docket Message, Metered status, Inspection Checklists, and Rates/Prices configuration.

Companions Tab

Companions can be added to a Master Record to streamline the sales process. Companions are optional items that can be attached to primary items for easy selection during sales.

Managing Companions

To add or remove companions:

  1. Go to Setup > Items and select the item.

  2. Access the Companions tab, add or remove items as needed.
