Custom Fields in HirePOS allow you to store specific data tailored to your business needs. This feature enables you to create personalized fields to capture unique information that is not predefined in the software. This document provides a comprehensive guide on setting up and utilizing Custom Fields for Items, Invoices, Customers, and Suppliers in HirePOS.

What are Custom Fields?

A Custom Field is a single-line text field that can store short, specific information such as names, words, or short sentences. The key feature of Custom Fields is the flexibility to set the field names globally across your HirePOS database, ensuring consistency and ease of data management.

Setting up Custom Fields

Items

Setup:

  • Navigate to Setup > Items > Options > Custom Field Names

  • Define names for the required fields

  • Click Save

Entering data:

  • Navigate to Setup > Items > (select item) > "Custom Field" Tab

  • Enter the data and save

Note: Custom Fields for Items can also be populated through CSV data imports.

Customers

Setup:

  • Navigate to Setup > Customers > Options > Custom Field Names

  • Define names for the required fields

  • Click Save

Entering data:

  • Navigate to Setup > Customers > (select customer) > "Custom Field" Tab

  • Enter the data and save

Note: Custom Fields for Customers can also be populated through CSV data imports.

Suppliers

Entering data:

  • Navigate to Setup > Items > (select item) > "Custom Field" Tab

  • Enter the data and save

Note: Custom Fields for Suppliers can also be populated through CSV data imports.

Invoices

Setup:

  • Navigate to Setup > Preferences > Invoice Custom Field Names

  • Define names for the required fields

Entering data:

  • Navigate to Sales > Sales > (select quote/booking/invoice)

  • Select the "Custom Fields" Tab

  • Enter the data and save
