Restrict Double-Bookings
This document outlines the process of preventing bookings from being emailed when there are double-booking warnings for an item in the HirePOS system. This feature is essential for maintaining the integrity of your booking system and ensuring that customers do not encounter scheduling conflicts.
Enabling the Restrict Double-Bookings Feature
To enable the restriction on double bookings, follow these steps:
Navigate to Setup > Items list, and select the item you wish to edit.
Click on the Configuration sub-heading to expand the section.
Check the Restrict Double-Bookings setting.
Click the Save Changes button located at the bottom-right of the screen.
Emailing Bookings
To test the functionality of the Restrict Double-Bookings feature, create a couple of bookings for a test customer using the same date range and the same item that has the Restrict Double-Bookings setting enabled. Here’s what to expect:
On the second booking, you will notice a red band through the line item, indicating a conflict.
The Double-Bookings tab will display a numbered badge, alerting you to the issue.
Next, click the Email button at the bottom-right to proceed to the Email booking screen. Here, you will observe the following:
A Double-Booking warning will be displayed at the top of the screen.
A red alert will appear to the left of the Send button, indicating that there are restricted double-booking items associated with the booking.
The Send button will remain greyed out, preventing the booking from being emailed.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage double bookings and ensure a smooth booking experience for your customers.
