Navigating HirePOS Safely in Your Web Browser

HirePOS includes its own menus, links and navigation buttons for moving between screens and returning to saved work.

During normal use, navigate with the controls inside HirePOS rather than your web browser's Back, Forward or Refresh/Reload buttons.

This is particularly important when creating, editing or saving records such as quotes, bookings, invoices, customers, items, payments and Purchase Orders.

HirePOS pages can contain information that changes while you work, including unsaved entries, completed save actions and updated record details.

A browser navigation button may restore an earlier version of a page from the browser's history instead of opening the latest record from HirePOS. Refreshing or returning to a page during or after an action may also interrupt the expected workflow or repeat an action.

Using the navigation controls inside HirePOS ensures that you open the correct screen and retrieve the latest saved information.

Use the following options instead of the browser navigation buttons:

• HirePOS menus and links: Use the main menu, Home page tiles and links within each screen to move to another area.

• Home: Select the Home link or HirePOS Home icon to return to the Home page.

• Save: Allow the save to finish. HirePOS will return you to the appropriate previous screen after saving where applicable.

• Close or Cancel: Use the option provided on the current screen to leave without completing the action.

• Recent History: Use the clock icon in the top menu to reopen a recently edited sales record.

• New Home Tab: Use the square-and-arrow icon in the top menu to open a new HirePOS Home page in another browser tab without leaving your current work.

• In-app Refresh buttons: Some HirePOS screens have their own Refresh button. Use that button when the guide or screen instructs you to refresh a list or connection.

After selecting Save, wait for HirePOS to complete the save and return you to the previous screen.

Do not use the browser Back button to return to the editing screen you just saved. The browser may display the page as it appeared before or during the save rather than loading the latest saved record.

To reopen the record:

1. Use the page HirePOS returned you to, such as Customer Overview or Find Sales/Hire.

2. Select the record from the list.

You can also use Recent History from the top menu to quickly reopen a recently edited quote, booking or invoice.

If you need to check availability, search for another record or use a different HirePOS tool while keeping the current page open:

1. Select the New Home Tab icon in the HirePOS top menu.

2. Use the new HirePOS tab for the second task.

3. Return to the original tab when ready.

Avoid opening and editing the same record in more than one tab at the same time. Changes saved from one tab may not be visible in another tab that was opened earlier.

If you accidentally use a browser navigation button:

1. Do not immediately repeat the save, payment or other action.

2. Use the HirePOS Home icon, main menu or Recent History to reopen the required screen.

3. Check the record to confirm that your latest changes were saved before making further edits.

4. If you are unsure whether an action completed, check the record history where available or contact HirePOS Support.

Only use the browser Back, Forward or Refresh/Reload buttons if HirePOS Support or a specific HirePOS help guide instructs you to do so.
