Invoice Timeline

Edited

The Invoice Timeline provides a chronological history of activity associated with a Sales/Hire record. It can help you review when a record was created or updated, communications sent to the customer, payments, approvals and other important events.

The timeline also displays key details for the selected record, including the customer, address, phone number, transaction date and transaction number.

Accessing the Invoice Timeline

To view the timeline:

  1. Open the required Invoice.

  2. Select the CRM tab.

  3. Click Timeline.

Timeline Activity

The timeline combines relevant activity from the record's Audit Trail and CRM Contact Logs into a single history. Events are displayed from latest to oldest, with the date and time shown alongside each entry.

Depending on the activity recorded against the Sales/Hire record, the timeline can include events such as:

  • Created or Updated

  • Approved

  • Duplicated

  • Dispatched

  • Emailed or SMS

  • Signed

  • Payments, deleted payments and Refunds

  • Collected or Returned

  • Cancelled or Deleted

  • Accepted or Declined

  • Alerts dismissed

  • CRM contact activity

Additional details recorded against an event are displayed with the timeline entry where available.

CRM Activity

CRM Contact Logs linked to the Sales/Hire record are also included in the timeline. These entries display the Contact Method as the heading and the Subject as the description, making it easier to review customer communications alongside other record activity.

Using the Timeline

The Invoice Timeline is useful when you need to quickly understand the history of a Sales/Hire record. For example, you can use it to check when the record was last updated, whether it has been approved or signed, when communications were sent, or when payment and hire-related activity occurred.

For more detailed change information, refer to the record's Audit Trail where applicable.
