Use Current Retail Prices When Duplicating a Quote, Booking or Invoice

Edited

When creating a duplicate of a quote, booking, or invoice in HirePOS, the duplicate screen includes an option called:

Use Current Retail Prices (Ignore Customer Discounts)

When enabled, HirePOS will:

  • Look up the current list prices from Setup > Items

  • Use the current selling unit prices for the new duplicate

  • Replace the old invoice rates with the latest retail prices

What This Does

Example:

  • Original invoice price: $10/day

  • Current list price in Setup > Items: $12/day

With this option enabled, the duplicated invoice will use:

  • $12/day

This is useful when:

  • Repeating common orders

  • Creating recurring invoices

  • Reusing old quotes as templates

  • Ensuring new invoices use current pricing without manually updating rates

Important: Customer Discounts Are Ignored

This option does not apply:

  • Customer-specific item pricing

  • Customer discounts

  • Customer group pricing

  • Special customer rates

It only uses standard retail/list prices from item setup.

Example:

Scenario

Price

Old retail price

$10/day

Customer special rate

$9/day

Current retail price

$12/day

With this option enabled, the duplicated invoice will use:

  • $12/day

The customer's $9/day special pricing will not be applied.

Best Use Cases

This option is best suited for:

  • Cash customers

  • Standard retail pricing workflows

  • Quickly refreshing old pricing

  • Common repeat orders

  • Template-style saved quotes
