Allow Partial Edits on Locked Sales Records
This document provides detailed instructions on how to enable specific updates to locked sales records within the HirePOS system. This feature is particularly useful for businesses that require flexibility in managing sales records without needing constant administrative intervention.
Understanding Record Locking in HirePOS
In HirePOS, the Record Locking process ensures that once a sales record is locked, it cannot be edited by non-Admin users. This security measure is designed to maintain the integrity of sales data. Sometimes it is desirable to preserve the financial state of the invoice but allow edits on non-financial properties. This is where Partial Edits come in.
Partial Edits on Locked Sales Records
Certain updates can still be made to locked sales records. Specifically, changes to the following fields are permitted:
Delivery/Pickup information
Reference and Comments fields
Adding Photos or Files to the sales record
To enable these updates, the "Allow Partial Edits on Locked Sales" permission must be added to the General user's profile.
Steps to Add the Permission
Follow the steps below to grant the "Allow Partial Edits on Locked Sales" permission to a user account:
Ensure you are logged in as an Administrator level user.
Navigate to Preferences > Users List > User Roles > Permissions tab.
Activate the Allow Partial Edits on Locked Sales permission and save your changes.
Instruct the General user to log out of HirePOS and log back in for the changes to take effect.
By following these steps, General users will be able to make necessary updates to locked sales records, thereby enhancing operational efficiency within your business.
