Auto-create Post Inspection Checklists on Item Return
This feature will auto-create a maintenance post inspection checklist when hire items are returned.
How to activate this feature
- From the main menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Preferences > Misc.
- Scroll down to 'Maintenance Inspection Checklists' section towards the bottom.
- Check the 'Auto-create Post Inspection on Item Return' checkbox.
- Click 'Save Changes'.
Post inspection checklists are only auto-created for items that have a default 'Post Inspection Checklist' template assigned to them.
How to assign a default post inspection template to a hire item
- From the main menu strip at the top, go to Setup > Items.
- Look up an item, then click the item row to view and edit the item details.
- Click the 'Maintenance' tab.
- Select a template from the 'Post Inspection Checklist' dropdown towards the bottom.
- Click 'Save Changes'.
When the item is returned (i.e. the 'Hired To' date is populated), the post inspection checklist will be created automatically. In Maintenance > Inspection Checklists, the record will appear with a light orange/red background to indicate the inspection is pending, as the 'Start Date' will be blank. The 'Inspection Reason' will be auto-populated as 'Item Returned on 31/01/2020' for example. The 'Meter Reading' is also populated based on the 'Meter Reading To' entered against the item on the Invoice.
